A 15–20 minute phone consultation:
This can be a great fit if you have a clear sense of what you’re working through and feel emotionally grounded enough to share a brief overview of your concerns and therapy goals. It gives you space to ask questions, get a feel for my style, learn about my approach, and see if it feels like a good fit.
A full first session:
If you’re carrying a more complex or trauma-related story—especially if it might feel activating to try to summarize briefly—I often recommend starting with a full session. This allows us to move at a more supportive pace and begin more thoughtfully. We can then use the first few sessions to assess for fit.
I’ll leave the choice up to you—whatever feels most supportive is the right place to start.
